About this artwork
Round work on cotton canvas
Joëlle Kem Lika likes to play between the abstract and the figurative, but each time, she wonders what she means, or translate ... here, with bright colors, paradoxically a feeling of calm, and of joy. She explores this theme of water lilies, with her plexiglass scrapers created for this work.
She sought a harmony in red, yellow, white, bright colors ... at sunset ... which set everything ablaze!
This flower draws… its energy from the mud to seek light ..... and emerge ...
This water lily all by itself, can symbolize all of us, in search of peace, but flamboyant, too, giving off a quiet power.
« I draw on my canvas to manifest my love of life. »
