“Layers of Time” Joanna Pyrskala
Joanna Pyrskala’s newest abstract work unfolds in a palette of earth tones- soft greys, warm browns, ochres and mineral shades- evoking the quiet rhythm of geological formations. The composition resembles natural strata built over time, creating a serene yet profoundly evocative visual landscape.
Crafted in mixed media, the piece combines liquid metal, acrylic paint, watercolour accents and elements of concrete,… resulting in a richly tactile, multi-layered surface. The textures reveal themselves gradually: subtle elevations, delicate transitions and organic irregularities that invite both visual contemplation and a sensory experience. It is a painting designed not only to be viewed, but also to be felt- an essential quality in Pyrskala’s artistic language.
“Layers of Time” was exhibited during her solo show at Bytom SqArt Gallery in June 2025.

JOANNA PYRSKALA is a conceptual and visual artist with a background in Fine Arts and Landscape Architecture. Her practice explores abstraction and minimalism through refined compositions and subtle emotional depth. She creates paintings and epoxy resin objects that balance concept with aesthetics, including custom designs for contemporary interiors. Her works are part of private collections around the world, including the USA. Pyrskala has exhibited internationally, with shows in Spain and the Netherlands and was awarded Top Selection 2025 at the Berlin Art Fair by BBA Gallery in collaboration with PitturiAmo.
