The image reflects one of the special moments of the Albufera of Valencia.
This is when the sluice gates (perellones) of the channels are closed so that the lake overflows and covers the rice fields.
This occurs in winter, which facilitates the cleaning of the fields and the influx of birds during their migration.
As the water level rises, it also floods the roads, making… them impassable for traffic.
The most spectacular thing is the sunsets with the sun reflecting on the water, like in a mirror.
