About this artwork

This painting was the third in a series entitled, "Fire & Water." Recently, there was a horrific fire nearby and a friend's car business was destroyed and burnt to the ground. During the ongoing clean-up process, I began collecting pieces of melted, rusted metal, once belonging to cars that were housed there and other remnants of the building and the business. In an attempt to pay homage to this tragedy, I began incorporating them into an on-going… abstract/ organic series. Once headed to the garbage, I've now given them a new life in my work.
