About this artwork
In this work, I've fused found objects with a surrealist touch to explore the intersection of technology and raw materiality. I wanted to convey the hidden energy, both fragile and powerful, emanating from this unexpected assemblage. It will energize any space with its message of innovation, transformation, and mechanical poetry. A vibrant tribute to the reinvention of everyday life.
Joel Bassous uses painting and the assemblage of various objects, drawing on a wealth of experience in advertising and press design. Close to surrealism, he juxtaposes canvas, feathers, horns, LEDs, and plexiglass, blending visual humor and evocative titles to better denounce the hypocrisies of our society. His art seeks to bring truth to light while injecting a joyful spark into a world that is too often darkened.
