In many portraits of Johann Sebastian Bach he comes across as a hard faced, cold and difficult man.
Yet he is an iconic composer and inspiration not only to other classical composers such as Mozart, Mendleson, Brahms, Shostakovich etc but also to the likes of modern day musicians Paul Simon, George McCartney, Procul Harem, The Bee-gees.
His mastery of musical composition is outstanding. Counterpoint and harmony for… example. Way ahead of his time using chords that only appear today. He also sired 20 children.
This artwork portrays Bach in a more colourful way, a mask that hides the inner self of a truly musical genius 🎼✊
