About this artwork
One of the most striking scenes in nature is the moon casting its glow over a dark, open sea. In this piece, I aimed to capture that quiet, luminous moment—the soft radiance of the moon and the shimmering reflections that ripple across the water’s surface. There’s a stillness and energy in that interplay of light and movement that I find endlessly compelling.
To evoke this, I use an unconventional but familiar material: the soda can. Cut into strips… and woven into a mosaic, the cans create a vibrant, impressionistic texture that plays with light much like the scene itself. Each can carries a past life as commercial packaging—designed to catch the eye, sell a product, and be discarded. By reworking these fragments into a natural landscape, I invite viewers to reflect on consumption, transformation, and the unexpected beauty found in reimagined materials.
