About this artwork
The wings were originally built as part of another sculpture but were a difficult project and were eventually abandoned behind the sofa. After a few years they were resurrected from the shadows and reworked Ito the form you see today. Rather than destroying them their flaws have been enhanced using finer weaves in a deliberate way, somewhat like the Japanese technique of kintsugi. use of an abandoned piece, the use of abandoned cans resurrecting them in a new way. Designed as wall hanging and human sized this sculpture has proven popular in exhibitions as the public enjoy interacting with it to imagine themselves as an angel or demon.
