About this artwork
We went with artist friends to the Coastal Range, to the town of Putaendo on the way to the Devil's Tooth. We all performed poetic acts. I climbed a hillside and drew a circle 60 meters in diameter with chalk. From its interior point, I placed strips 25 centimeters wide by 2.40 meters long. I brought them from my studio, prepared and painted white. Then I positioned the moon and began to paint in a rugged, uncomfortable, wild territory. The heat…
was unbearable. From this poetic act, "The Dark Side of the Moon" was born. I always thought I should create a system to measure time on that side we have never been able to see.
