José Luis Toaquiza Chugchilan is a self-taught painter who uses acrylics, oils, brushes, linen, and leather. Inspired since childhood by Ecuadorian nature and the guidance of his father, he works in a style of magical realism, portraying scenes of rural life, wildlife, and landscapes of the rainforest and highlands, where animal and human figures subtly emerge from natural forms. His works convey wonder, tenderness, and a profound spiritual connection with nature, inviting the viewer to value and protect the natural world around us.
