About this artwork
This piece, part of a very fluid series, uses pigmented acrylics to create a highly organic feel. It's painted on the back of the methacrylate, so the paint is trapped. Interestingly, it's a textured work, but without any physical volume. Furthermore, the methacrylate finish gives it a very elegant look, as if the artist hadn't intervened.
José María Navarro Lisón, a self-taught artist since 1988, works in painting and sculpture, exploring methacrylate, wood, and high-quality acrylics. His techniques include the creation of two-dimensional sculptures and the use of unconventional materials such as bamboo and thin sticks, evolving from expressionist figuration toward poetic abstraction. His works convey a profound sense of formal and personal exploration, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in a playful and experimental universe imbued with reflection and authenticity.
