About this artwork
I painted this piece in a very torrential time in my life... Which coincided with probably what was the happiest moment of my life as well. I was deep into my PTSD depression from having witnessed 9/11 from a rooftop on Canal Street in Manhattan, but my wife had just given birth to our first child, Marcelo. He, and the two children that followed, were what I credit with getting me over my depression. I got the help I needed, and forced myself to…
work every day for them. Marcelo became a beacon of life for me, and for this I will forever be grateful to my first born little boy.
