About this artwork
The SERIES (rice fields) in THE PAPER SERIES is a new series that I have transformed, giving a twist to the works of my beginnings in landscape painting. These works are inspired by the rice fields in the area of Pals on the Costa Brava, the works arise through some sketches made on holiday in 2018. waters of the rice fields, I have achieved neutral colours studying a range of greens and blues. With the mixed technique and collage I have created reliefs that give a rough texture to the work. They are very interesting landscapes, as in all of them electric lines cross with the poles and give a good perspective to the works. I have used recycled materials such as coffee grounds and paper cuttings which, when mixed with other materials, give a very interesting result. The works are made on a paper base.

Josep Pozo is a Spanish painter who has exhibited his works in numerous solo events nationally. While he says his style isn't singular, but varied, one of the main features in his compositions is the ambiguity of the characters he portrays. Pozo highlights their characteristics and leaves it up to the viewer to create a narrative around their stories. He employs mixed techniques based on acrylics and collage, recycling different materials in order to obtain rich textures.
