About this artwork
OrsayOner Pop City Lounge is an original work of the artist.
It takes its famous 80-90's 'Orsay' tag, which it used in the wasteland at the time, integrating it as a compositional element to punctuate the minimal and abstract set of the work.
In length as the artist often did during this period, projections and shades of gradients are vaporized with the bomb in the background and leaving the background, white, predominant to keep a minimal… spirit in order to integrate with 'discretion' in an environment that the artist often imagines going with the work.
The mixed technique including aerosols, markers and various inks is enhanced with a glossy three-layer varnish.
The canvas is of cotton, mounted on a wooden frame of quality of the supplier 'Marin'.

« My current influences range from pop art, graphic design, fashion and my travels - from which I bring back posters taken in the streets and eventually integrate them into my work. »
JP Malot’s adolescence was marked by keen interest in Paris’s top graffiti artists. Finding art school too academic, he left to delve instead into set-making, fashion, street and pop art - foregoing high culture for the underground. Mixing techniques and materials including aerosol, collage, stencil, drawings and sculpture, his artistic signature is a stand-out.
