About this artwork
In this work, I have channeled intense emotions through bold brushstrokes and vibrant colors. The expressionistic force that permeates the fabric seeks to capture the complexity of human relationships and the deep connections we share. Each element, from the interlocking shapes to the chromatic contrast, is designed to evoke reflection and dialogue with the viewer. This painting will add dynamic energy and exciting visual conversation to any space… you inhabit.
« Sometimes I think that I paint like this because I can't paint. »
Juan Varela is an experienced painter and sculptor based in Spain whose works have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally and in Germany.
He lived in Germany, in Karlsruhe and Baden-Baden, where he shared his passion for expressionist painting with other artists. Felix Jahraus, Georg Schalla and Uwe Lindau were his colleagues at the IWKA, a former munitions factory and now a world-renowned museum for contemporary art, ZDF. His paintings reflect the themes of his various works as if they arose spontaneously and chaotically. Varela does not want to pigeonhole himself into a style by default, but rather moves from one to another spontaneously and freely. Through his compositions, he creates spaces that invite the emotions of the spectator to emerge.
