About this artwork
I have created this work with a whirlwind of emotions, immersing myself in expressionism to explore the deepest corners of human sensitivity. The vivid palette and spontaneous strokes are a dance of colors that invite reflection and introspection. When integrated into your home, it will fill each space with vibrant energy and spark a visual conversation that captures the eye and the soul.
« Sometimes I think that I paint like this because I can't paint. »
Juan Varela is an experienced painter and sculptor based in Spain whose works have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally and in Germany.
He lived in Germany, in Karlsruhe and Baden-Baden, where he shared his passion for expressionist painting with other artists. Felix Jahraus, Georg Schalla and Uwe Lindau were his colleagues at the IWKA, a former munitions factory and now a world-renowned museum for contemporary art, ZDF. His paintings reflect the themes of his various works as if they arose spontaneously and chaotically. Varela does not want to pigeonhole himself into a style by default, but rather moves from one to another spontaneously and freely. Through his compositions, he creates spaces that invite the emotions of the spectator to emerge.
