About this artwork
It is a way of conversing internally and externally, hoping for the best from the universe in a somewhat naive way, but with a more hopeful than realistic vision.
Jules Carp, born in Guadalajara, is a self-taught figurative painter with a background in Communications Sciences and Musical Theater. He has cultivated his art through acrylic painting and drawing. He is characterized by reinterpretation, juxtaposition, and hybridization in contemporary still lifes, using solid blocks and flat fields of color alongside clean lines to create atmospheric scenes. His work is an emotional inventory where color and light evoke ephemeral moments, conveying nostalgia, introspection, and the restlessness of invisible desires and dualities.
