About this artwork
This scenery is as familiar as my own hand - I look at it on my daily walks, examine it at different times of day, changing seasons, in wind, rain, snow and sweltering heat. I painted this picture on a beautiful late spring day, when the water was smooth and the sky so blue that it evoked peace. All was suffused with a beautiful purplish and blue light, making the green stand out against it. "This is serenity" is what I thought.
