About this artwork
This artwork originated as a photograph and was intuitively refined with acrylic, oil, wax, and gold leaf, through which the energy of the image was captured and translated into abstract art.
The image bears the title “From Giving and Receiving” and seeks to remind us of the following:
It is not material possessions that bring us joy or illuminate our hearts, but the emotions we experience through giving. When we awaken joy in another, when we… receive gratitude for our actions, when we witness what our giving has set in motion — that is true receiving.
No amount of money in the world will ever fulfill us as deeply as the feeling of having touched someone’s heart, of having offered hope and perspective, of having brought joy, and of having passed love forward.
All of these works were created from love, joy, and passion — and they seek to do exactly that: to keep love in circulation, to honor giving and receiving, the richness within it, and the energy that is born from it.
