About this artwork
With "Oceanic Rift," I explore the power of contrasts. Golden, earthy structures meet the dynamism of the ocean, while a powerful wave rises at the center. For me, this work is an encounter between land and water, stillness and movement, permanence and change.
The sculptural forms emerge from numerous layers of resin, pigments, and textured surfaces. The deep blue and turquoise tones evoke the energy of the sea, while the bronze areas suggest tectonic… formations and geological processes. A narrow, light-colored coastal strip connects these two worlds and lends balance to the composition.
The integrated lighting fundamentally transforms the artwork. The interior of the wave begins to glow in an intense blue, while warm red and gold tones become visible beneath the bronze structures. Depending on the lighting conditions, new depths, reflections, and color worlds emerge, making the object appear ever-changing.
