In this artwork, I explored the depths of emotion through my vibrant use of oil paints, creating a cascade of layered textures. painting is one of the ‘Authorship of the Past’ series that I created a few years ago to bring that sense of the past into the present. All the paintings in the series are repaints of my earlier works (from my student days). Instead of using a brush, I used a trowel. This allowed me to convey the expression of the brushstroke, but still retain the existing texture of the paint. It was as if the old painting was choosing its future image. The new layers of paint retained the texture and in some places peeked through, leaving a piece of the old
