About this artwork
"This canvas is my signature because it is the fusion of my two lives: that of the Olympic athlete with an 8.30m long jump and that of the painter I have been for forty years.
I wanted to represent that moment of suspension, that instant when the athlete is no longer a man but a shockwave. I constructed it like an architecture of the invisible: his body is a mosaic of geometric shapes and vibrant colors, which for me represent the muscular and nervous… structures of pure strength. It is the foundation, solid as a wall.
But the essence lies in this deep black background. You see these interlacing patterns, these kinetic lines that spring forth and swirl. It's not the body in motion that I wanted to paint, but the energetic trace it leaves behind. In creating this work, I rediscovered the exact sensation of the track: the tension, the impulse, and that thrill of total freedom where you become the trajectory.
