"Pride" explores the eternal struggle between light and shadow within the human soul. At the heart of the composition stands a man-still, contemplative. Opposite him looms a demon, not merely a creature of horror, but reflection of the darker psyche: fear, desire, anger and doubt.
Rather then a battle scene, this work captures a moment of tense coexistence. The figures are not enemies in… combat but aspects of the same being-mirroring each other in posture, yet opposing in essence. The man represent consciousness and identity, while the demon embodies the primal, the repressed.
With dramatic contrast in lighting and texture, this piece invites the viewer to question where one figure ends and other begins. It is a meditation on inner conflict, self-acceptance, and the blurred line between virtue and vice. "Pride" does not offer answers, but rather reflects a truth we all carry: we are never just one thing.
