About this artwork
Exhibited at Teatr 6. Piętro, Warsaw, in the group exhibition “Sztuka (nie)rozpoznana”.
This painting captures a woman in motion – suspended between presence and disappearance. Rendered in translucent layers of blue and soft pastels, her figure seems to emerge from light rather than occupy a fixed space. The lines outlining her body are fluid and open, suggesting transformation, resilience and inner balance rather than a literal portrait.
Her closed… eyes and poised gesture evoke self-awareness and calm strength, while the diffused contours blur the boundary between the figure and the surrounding space. The composition alludes to both dance and ascension, portraying femininity as a state of becoming rather than a static identity.
Subtle shifts of color — between warmth and coolness — reflect emotional change and the coexistence of fragility with determination. This work belongs to a wider cycle exploring women in transition, honouring the legacy of figures like Ludwika Wawelberg and
Kamila Sitak is a passionate Polish painter and Interior Designer whose works have been exhibited in Poland, Germany and the United States. Trained in ballet, dressage and now tango, she infuses her art with the joy of dance and movement - the freedom, music, and satisfying exhaustion. Her paintings reflect these themes with strong lines, shapes and shading.
