Tango is relevant today – that's the message of my realistic portrait series "Tango Heroes." The faces of tango singers of this century meet colorful, expressive backgrounds, inspired by street art from Buenos Aires.
Walter "El Chino" Laborde looks back on a long and varied career. He co-founded the Orquesta Fernandez Fierro, which invented a new, rock-infused style of tango. He recorded numerous albums and also appeared in films, including the… well-known "Midsummer Night Tango" and "A Last Tango" by German Kral.
