About this artwork
This is one of my new works from the "burlap" series. Still the recognizable women, but I worked with completely different materials. I love the rough structure of burlap and the sturdy natural look. For these works I used new jute, but also used. I glued this to a canvas. You can still faintly see the repair pieces and the letters. Furthermore, I made the design of the painting with Indian ink. Karlien Hamel-Kuperus is an artist based in the Netherlands who has exhibited her works nationally. The main theme in her art is women, whom she portrays in varying atmospheres and situations.
