About this artwork
This piece bursts with raw emotion and vitality, capturing a moment of introspective grace. Through layered acrylics, I explored the tension between strength and vulnerability in the human form, blending bold expressionism with delicate figurative brushstrokes. It radiates an intimate energy, inviting viewers to feel both the complexity and softness of self-reflection, bringing warmth and depth into any space it inhabits.
« I am a happy and dreamy person. I paint subjects that affect and touch me. During my work, I always have music on. Without it, I will not get going at all! »
Karlien Hamel-Kuperus is an artist based in the Netherlands who has exhibited her works nationally. The main theme in her art is women, whom she portrays in varying atmospheres and situations. Hamel-Kuperus mostly paints women because she can easily imagine herself in similar situations. Her vibrant figurative compositions are created using acrylics and spray paint on linen.
