About this artwork
The turquoise sky sets a calm, open space, allowing the layered textures and lively marks below to really sing.… I worked with transparent glazes, energetic strokes and small touches of bright reds, purples and yellows to bring movement and life into the field. The lighter, sunlit flowers soften the scene and draw the eye forward, suggesting gentle wind and drifting summer air.
It’s a vibrant, uplifting painting that celebrates nature’s quiet drama — wildflowers leaning into one another and colours shifting as you walk past. I’ve painted the sides of the canvas as well, so the piece is ready to hang just as it is, with no need for framing.
