About this artwork
Please note: This painting is in my studio in Poland and can be reserved, please enquire.
The painting was executed to celebrate The PRIDE festivals all over the world. Inspired by the song 'Take Me To Church' by Hozier, it represents a mixed race person of unknown sexuality and gender, who faces love and hate in equal measures. There is a silver halo behind them to symbolise a saint status. The artist wanted to say, that no matter what we are… all equally entitled to an eternal heaven, whether or not we are included on Earth. No one has an exclusivity to a religion, love or church, whatever it might be and whatever form it may take. The picture was painted with acrylic and with an added aluminium leaf for a halo.

« I'm a very restless soul. When creating one piece, I already plan a different one, often in a different style that I haven't tried before. »
Kasia Kaldowski describes her artistic expression as the experimentation with varying techniques that best reflect the mood of an image, or a message that she wants to convey. With a style that ranges from Turneresque landscapes to abstract, as well as as "dynamic dance paintings", and pop art, Kaldowski's diverse compositions are created with acrylics on canvas.
