About this artwork

I painted this piece with the intention of capturing that magical moment when sunlight filters through a woodland and suddenly everything feels lighter, softer and full of possibility. I wanted the trees to feel almost weightless, their branches weaving together in a delicate canopy, with warm streaks of crimson and gold suggesting shafts of light breaking through. The misty glow in the distance adds a sense of calm and quiet, as if the world pauses… for a breath while colours shift and settle. Soft greens, earthy browns and gentle greys mingle with those bursts of red, hinting at hidden clearings, autumn warmth and the quiet rustle of leaves. This is a painting about light finding its way even through dense branches — about those unexpected flashes of colour that remind us how nature constantly surprises. The edges of the canvas are painted too, so the work is ready to hang without framing. This woodland scene brings a sense of peace, hope and slow wonder, like stepping into a glow.
