“Uncertainty” is part of the series of drawing heads. It's like a study in held pressure. A body of abstract expressionist portraits that explore gesture, fragmentation, and psychological tension.
In this work, a head-like form materializes from dense scribbles, fractured geometry, and layered colour fields. The marks seem both urgent and delicate, as if drawn from the subconscious and held in a state of flux. Bold red and violet blocks ground the… chaos, while overlapping textures reflect the unsettled logic of dreams and half-remembered stories.
This portrait embodies the shifting boundary between presence and dissolution — a study in vulnerability, intensity, and the uncertain ground of identity.

Signed on the front: Słania; and on the back: >Uncertainty< LOOK UP series, Kasia Słania, 2025.
It was made in Warsaw, Poland, near the woods.
Kasia Słania, with a penchant for vivid colors birthed from nostalgic home textiles, utilizes oil pastels to unite drawing and painting. Her work, rooted in the minutiae of everyday life, pulsates with emotional authenticity. Her process—instinctive, tactile, interlacing thick lines and contrasting textures—evokes the rawness of human experience. Her art resonates with profound simplicity, capturing life's fleeting moments in a dance of lines and color that vibrate with an inner weirdo's euphoric release.
