About this artwork
I love blue and green and wild painting :-) Rhapsody in Blue evokes the turbulent mood of blue seas with contrast between the light and dark shades of blue and green. The painting has a dynamic and rhythmic quality that suggests movement and energy, as well as a sense of depth and perspective. The title is slightly inspired by the famous musical composition Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin, which also combines classical and jazz elements in a… unique and expressive way.
This artwork is signed on the back, the sides are painted to match the front, and it is unframed with d-rings and wire ready to hang. It comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity and will be registered on the National Registry of Australian Art and Artists. Images showing framing are indicative only.
Kate Hessling, a self-taught painter and visual artist, draws from a background enriched by diverse creative influences and hands-on exploration with materials like clay and glass. She embraces an abstract expressionist approach, often veering into moody impressionist landscapes, working predominantly in large, loose compositions that evolve intuitively without constraint. Her artworks pulsate with freedom and vitality, inviting viewers to experience a soulful cleansing and a renewed sense of wonder.
