This artwork, "Golden Transition," is a harmonious blend of structure and lightness. Using acrylic and 24k gold leaf, I have playfully created forms that flow yet appear clear. The geometric minimalism conveys tranquility and elegance, while the golden accents with genuine gold leaf bring warmth and energy to the room. It invites you to continually discover new details within its depths and inspires balance in everyday life.
Framed in a high-quality… gold metal frame and passe-partout made of museum-quality board (40 × 30 cm), the work can be hung directly.
Katrin Mates is a painter and graphic artist. Her work is receiving growing international attention – several of her pieces have already been included in collections and curated exhibitions.
Her painting exists in the tension between structure and dissolution. Drawing on the craft tradition of decorative papermaking, she combines her knowledge of color, rhythm, and material with contemporary abstract painting. Inspired by memories of Samarkand and the light of her childhood, she explores how order arises, disintegrates, and reforms—always searching for that moment when structure becomes permeable and light emerges from within.
