About this artwork
In the work "Urban Lights #2," I used a layered painting process with acrylic paint and a palette knife. Textured, troweled areas meet softly blended sections of color, creating a vibrant interplay of light and shadow—to me, it resembles reflected lights refracting between building facades and shimmering on a warm city morning. Vibrant colors such as luminous neon orange and vivid reds lend the work a positive, urban energy.
The work was created… on environmentally friendly stone paper, whose smooth surface brings out the depth and radiance of the colors particularly intensely.

Her painting exists in the tension between structure and dissolution. Drawing on the craft tradition of decorative papermaking, she combines her knowledge of color, rhythm, and material with contemporary abstract painting. Inspired by memories of Samarkand and the light of her childhood, she explores how order arises, disintegrates, and reforms—always searching for that moment when structure becomes permeable and light emerges from within.
