Among the works created by Hokusai around the age of 74, in the middle of the Tenpō era, there is a series of medium-sized nishiki-e prints combining flowers and birds, accompanied by haiku and Chinese poems. Published by Eijudō, they are signed "Zenhokusai Iitsu," and some bear a seal combining the characters "nō" and "manji,"… which allows us to deduce the period of creation as mentioned previously.
