About this artwork
At some point in every artists life, they will try to create what is longed for or missing in their life. Thirty five years as an Illustrator with impossible deadlines and twenty-four hour stress, I longed for an escape. So I built one. All my youthful happy memories and most important life lessons reimagined into my happy floating world, above the everyday stresses. Built from my young admiration of Jules Verne and H.G. Wells and of course imaginative… movies like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Mary Poppins. Flying cars and floating woman with parasols all surrounded with happy little songs that wanted to make a ten year bounce his head and smile.
I'm an old artist now, and that ten year old still makes me smile. Perhaps, just perhaps, he can make someone else smile as well.
Welcome to my world.
