About this artwork
The Kleines Walsertal, which was settled by Valaisans in the 13th century, can only be reached from Oberallgäu (Oberstdorf). The valley is characterized by the alpine terrain structure, steep grassy hills and small settlements.
In the spring, the meltwater falls into the valley and fills the half-empty stream beds with cold water.

Kerstin Grobler is a Germany-based artist whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and internationally (Europe, USA). Her distinctive expressionist landscapes are inspired by nature. Grobler usually begins her series with plein air works to experience her surroundings with all of her senses, and translates the images onto larger canvases in her studio.
Studied art at the Free Academy of Painting, Düsseldorf. Several years of further training with Prof. Markus Lüpertz.
