– 3 layers & 3D structure unique piece by Kim Benz, 2024
Dimensions: 50x70x5 cm + 5cm shadow gap frame
My work shows a large-scale three-dimensional structure in which several layers overlap harmoniously. Inspired by geometric shapes and architectural elements, the work of art unfolds an exciting depth effect.
The substrate… consists of a robust Lauan wood panel, which serves as the basis for the meticulously applied ivory acrylic paint. The spatulated surface appears deliberately diffuse and organic, which gives the work a certain lightness despite its severity.
The work of art is framed in an elegant shadow gap frame made of oak, which further emphasizes the depth of the image. A matt varnish provides the perfect finish and permanently protects the surface.
