About this artwork
In this piece, I explored the tension between darkness and subtle light, using texture to create depth and intimacy. The layered black round forms, punctuated by small bursts of green, embody resilience and hidden life within stillness. This painting invites calm reflection, offering a quiet, grounding energy that transforms any space into a sanctuary of contemplation and gentle power.
This painting, rich in texture, is from my latest series titled… « Touch of Silence ». Painted on gallery wrapped canvas, stretched on wooden frame and stapled on the back. Sides are painted in same color as background, framing is not required and the artwork comes ready to hang and enjoy. Signed and dated on the back and delivered with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Klara Gunnlaugsdottir is an experienced artist with international exposure. Her works are held in private collections worldwide. Her work is abstract in style and made using acrylic and mixed media techniques. With multiple layers of paint and different texture mediums, she builds depth and texture onto the canvas. She is primarily inspired by the natural world, especially the landscapes of her native Iceland. Like nature, her work depicts the opposition between light and dark, rough and smooth, thick and thin.
