About this artwork
On a trip on the "MS Astor" from Bremerhaven and back, I experienced the miracle of the midnight sun. A sun that never set. Never set in the middle of water. And then the fjords, these mountains. This coast, this intricately indented coastline. I did a lot of watercolor painting there, including the midnight sun. With this watercolor work, I wanted to capture the vibrant energy and flowing emotions that dance in every moment of our lives. The powerful… reds and yellows symbolize passion and warmth, while the abstract forms leave room for personal interpretation. This painting brings a dynamic freshness to any room and invites you to be inspired by the colors and shapes.
Klaus-Jürgen Wittig, engineer and painter (born 1938 in Berlin) In 1955 he took drawing lessons from Prof. Bammes at the Dresden Art Academy. Parallel to his artistic work, he studied materials engineering and materials testing in Chemnitz In 1960 he left the GDR and worked in various companies in Schaan/Liechtenstein, Ulm/Germany and Brixen/South Tyrol, Italy. In 1994 he became self-employed and worked for his company WITTIG CONSULT Qualitätsmanagement until 2010. Technology, engagement with other cultures and painting shape his life equally. In 1963, he began a three-year correspondence course at the École ABC de Paris, which he completed in 1966 with a graphic design diploma. In 1984 he began his active exhibition activities. Today Klaus-Jürgen Wittig lives and works in Berlin. I paint from my gut, so to speak. It's very intuitive. The picture is finished before it's even put on paper. It's just executed—in a relatively short process.
