About this artwork
The picture is painted with selected pigments from all parts of Europe, different painting techniques are combined: acrylic, oil, egg tempera, which allows special effects in details.
It is inaccurate to speak of abstract painting. Abstract may be the idea of a perfect circle, but those paintings that we call non-representational are about the physicality of color, about a brushstroke, or about contradiction and unity. The painting process is of… utmost importance in those pictures. Such a finished picture could be described as "finished music" or "frozen music." The pictorial action, in its deepest essence value-free, is ultimately directed towards the picture in balance. But it is certainly correct to say that the path, the process, and therefore time itself are always the subject.
Konstantin Grabowski, a painter with traditional roots, creates art using modified techniques. He combines modern painting techniques, such as applying paint with silicone spatulas, and uses the effects of the oil and water soluble properties of egg tempera, in parallel with traditional paint making. His works, best considered "frozen music", convey a sense of balance and physicality. They are a journey through the creative process and constantly emphasize the importance of time.
