About this artwork
“Drink My Tears” is a reflection of silent intimacy and emotional exposure. In this work, I painted a woman’s profile merging with abstract flows of indigo, violet, and red — a storm of feeling held just beneath the skin.
The single blue tear cascading from her eye falls directly into a wine glass, symbolizing how pain can transform into something that is both offered and consumed. It’s an invitation and a surrender — a way of saying, ‘Here is my… sadness, would you hold it for a while?’
The wine itself becomes an emotional alchemy, where sorrow is no longer hidden, but shared. I wanted the lines to stay minimal and fragile, almost like a whisper. The red dot on her cheek is a silent wound, and the blurred pigments echo the disintegration of control.
This piece carries the weight of vulnerability and the surreal closeness we sometimes crave — when we wish someone would not just see our tears, but drink them, taste them, know them.
