About this artwork
This large abstract expressionistic painting on high-quality Antwerp linen is part of my ongoing Zen Study series. In creating these artworks, I am guided by the seven characteristics of Zen Aesthetics, as outlined in Shin'ichi Hisamatsu's 'Zen and the Fine Arts'.
"All Around Us" expresses the interconnectedness of all things. Nature is not separate from us; it surrounds us and lives within us. Recognizing ourselves as an integral part of nature… underscores the importance of protecting it.
The interplay of blacks, whites, and Payne's Grey creates depth and movement on the canvas. The acrylic medium allows for rich textures and expressive brushstrokes. The canvas is stretched on a wooden frame, varnished for protection, and arrives ready to hang. This oversized artwork makes a statement in any living room, dining room, or office. It is signed on the front and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Krisztina Horvath is a former ballerina and lawyer, who eventually felt a strong urge to explore art, thus turning to painting. The Dutch talent enjoys the physical engagement and creative freedom offered by art, and now produces abstract pieces that investigate the relationship between nature and people; the impact of human actions on the earth. Her primary sources of inspiration include the Japanese Gutai movement and Zen aesthetics.
