About this artwork
In this work, I sought to capture the vibrant energy and ordered chaos that reside within us all. Each cubist form intertwines, each explosive color engages in dialogue, creating an intense visual rhythm. With acrylics, I aimed to convey raw emotion, a movement that animates the space and invites active contemplation, awakening the soul within.
Léon Akwadal is a self-taught painter, influenced by eminent masters and marked by his time spent in sub-Saharan Africa, primarily using acrylic on canvas. He favors abstraction, freely adapting techniques and styles according to his moods, and manipulating the supports to give his works a unique tactile depth. His paintings, never titled or signed on the front, reflect his relationship to the present moment, conveying an emotion imbued with strength, elegance, and wonder at the mysterious beauty of abstraction.
