No one knows own essence better than the person itself. If this person is an artist, then it can portray itself better than anyone at all. When the artist creates self-portrait, expression of his inner world is not limited to social prohibitions. He is ready to depict his essence grotesquely. In this art, you don't see emasculated feminine image, it's "prickly" and even careless. I appear before the audience as an uncompromising personality, indifferent…
to other people's opinions – such as I really am – without embellishment. My look is straight, strong-willed, penetrating. Despite its realism and observing of portrait similarity, the work is metaphorical: at first you may get the impression that all these pencils and rulers are mercilessly stuck in the head like needles in a needle bed, but this is not so – they grow out of the head together with hair. This is the head of an artist, all thoughts of which are concentrated only on art, through which he has contact with the world.
