The chaos. The noise. The bedlam, The dim.
The Carnival, Venice with masks shall begin.
Behind every visage they silently hide.
A hero? A villain? A groom or a Bride?
Or simply a “Good Guy” who’s out with a claim,
who places his bets ‘for the magical game?
Of treasure. A hint at the festival ball,
as hundreds of well-wishers answer the call.
The colours are dazzling the costumes abound.
The throng of the company swells forth… the sound.
The dancing is crazy. The masks so alluring.
A silent caress of a vail that’s obscuring
a damsel who entered the game without will,
gives way in the dark to a whisper. . .The thrill
....
The liquor fuelled evening, yields passion tonight.
Yet memory of actions a long distant sight.
The morning reveals through a mind still in haze.
A bed that is clear save a note with a phrase.
“Well thank you my dear for your full tenderness.”
