About this artwork
On the isle of Crete there are many canyons or gorges. The most famous one is the Samaria Gorge, a smaller one but equally beautiful is the gorge which leads from a small mountain village called 'Anidri' to the sea. I enjoyed hiking through this canyon and also making some sketches. When I came home I started to remember the atmoshpere and put things on canvas. Being home but in the meantime being there again!
