In Black Rift, the surface becomes an open field of tension.
The canvas is not a black background; it is an active rupture, crossed by lines that incise and destabilize the space.
Black acts as a gravitational mass. It absorbs, holds, and condenses. The white and red flashes do not decorate the surface; they emerge as traces of a rupture, residues of an impact already past. What is shown… is not the explosion itself, but the tear it leaves behind.
The dominant diagonal fractures the composition and imposes a physical direction upon the viewer’s gaze. The gesture is swift, frontal, and deliberate. It seeks neither balance nor symmetry; it asserts tension.
Black Rift belongs to the triptych Remanence and embodies the moment of rupture — the instant when matter opens and violence becomes trace.
