"Sand Stories" is a colorful, vibrant painting from the "Funky Palms" series, created in the artist Laura Isabel Koch's signature style: playful, meticulous in detail, and full of joie de vivre. From a bird's eye view, the viewer gazes upon a bustling dream beach where the rich ultramarine sea meets the warm sand.
With small, minimalist figures and colorful details, the work tells countless little summer stories—from happy children collecting shells… to relaxed sunbathers to surfers dancing on the waves. The palm-lined lower edge of the picture brings rhythm and structure to the painting, while the intense blue of the water creates depth and dynamism.
