About this artwork
A sunset like fireworks – “When the Sky Burned” doesn’t just show a landscape, but a feeling.
The sky is ablaze, clouds glow neon pink, the sea seems almost still – as if it were holding its breath.
This work is part of the “Color Escapes” series and invites you to immerse yourself in a world where colors are more intense than reality and every horizon is a promise.
The composition balances between energy and calm, wildness and vastness.
… It's an image for all those who feel a sense of longing—for that moment just before the night begins. For a place you never quite reach, but always carry in your heart!
Laura Isabel Koch, shaped by the storms and sunshine of her life, studied painting and creative writing.
She skillfully masters the use of vibrant acrylic paints and mixed media elements, playing with color contrasts and creating works full of structure and depth. The artist's bold and often intuitive brushstrokes bring emotions to the canvas that touch the human heart and express hope, joy, and love.
Her works are exhibited internationally – including in New York, Paris, Dubai, Mallorca, Grenada, Berlin and Switzerland – but exhibitions in smaller towns in her Wetterau homeland are also close to her heart.
She regularly participates in international art competitions and calls for entries in order to continuously develop her work and maintain dialogue with the art scene.
